Save Your Harvest!
Don’t panic but… squirrels, chipmunks, and birds are eyeing your garden right now!
There’s nothing worse then heading out to harvest only to find out a ‘friend’ has beat you to it. Here are some simple solutions that make use of household items.
Predators from the Ground
If you have squirrels, chipmunks or any other ground-dwelling thieves helping themselves to your crops, try this:
-
Grab plastic forks from your "takeout cutlery" drawer
-
Place them around your plants with the prongs facing out
-
Vary forks at different heights to create a fortress of security against these pesky visitors

Predators from the Sky
If ‘angry birds’ are your pest problem, try using this old-school trick:
-
Grab a CD/CD-ROM from that dusty pile in the closet
-
Thread string through the center hole, then hang it above your crop
-
The rainbow reflection and movement catches sunlight, deterring birds from swooping in for a snack

Whenever I’m tending to my garden, I add a handful of my secret weapon: Probiotics for Plants Worm Manure.
It feeds the soil ecosystem the right nutrients at the right time, so plants grow back stronger--no matter what Mother Nature throws at them!
